Connect with yourself, your partner, and your family.

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”
A. A. Milne
MY PHILOSOPHY
I believe quality of life is determined by the health of our relationships. Connection - with yourself, your partner, and your loved ones - is the core to satisfying relationships. As a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, I am trained in understanding how our emotions can drive our behavior when connection is missing. I work with couples and families to help them better understand one another and grow through the challenges life presents. I help families learn to recognize and then eventually express their needs for love, support, protection and comfort.

ABOUT ME

Kate is a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping children, families, and couples navigate challenging transitions. In her graduate studies, Kate specialized in grief and family systems—spending an additional year in divinity school focusing on the dynamics of faith, family, and loss. She began her career as a Support Group Coordinator and Therapist at Brooke’s Place for Grieving Young People. Through experiences studying in a variety of countries in Central America, Kate has also learned much from the Hispanic community about the influence of culture and spirituality on family systems.
She has worked in schools, counseling individuals and families; created parenting programs and educational workshops for the schools’ students, families, and teachers; and recently with CenterPoint Counseling where she worked with couples in all stages of their relationships. Additionally, at CenterPoint, she taught couples’ workshops, facilitated groups with young families, and volunteered at the New Day Program for families of divorce.
Kate has had training and experience in working with clients who are dealing with (but not limited to) topics such as:
Marital Problems
